Indore is the largest and most populous city of Madhya Pradesh. Rao Nandlal Chaudhary, the founder of Indore, named it as ‘Indrapur’ after Lord Indra, the deity of Indreshwar temple. Indore is a commercial centre for services and goods that is why it is also called Commercial Capital of Madhya Pradesh. Indore has been elected as the cleanest city in India as per the Swachh Survekshan 2017. Indore is the only city in India to have both Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM). I list the must-dos while you’re in Indore.


  • Lal Bagh Palace - The palace is one of the most prominent buildings of architecture in Indore. It is situated on the bank of River Khan. The palace is spread on a sprawling area of 28 acres.
  • Rajwada - Rajwada was constructed by the Holkars, that is why Also known as Holkar Palace. The palace is an impressive 7 storey structure. Rajwada is also very famous because of its history of being burnt thrice before.
